Real Madrid progressed to the semi-final of the Copa del Rey after managing a 1-1 draw away in Valencia.
Real Madrid won the first leg of the tie last week by two goals to nil thanks predominantly to Karim Benzema and it was the Frenchman who was on the score sheet once again tonight. In the 44th minute Alonso played a stunning ball through to Benzema who did well to control and shoot in quick succession beyond a helpless goalkeeper.
Tito pulled a goal back for the home side in the 52nd minute but Real Madrid held firm, despite Coentrao's dismissal and Iker Casillas' withdrawal due to injury.
Cristiano Ronaldo was extremely lively early on but faded out towards the end of the game as Valencia would require three more goals to eliminate Los Blancos.
