Cristiano Ronaldo changed the game from the substitute's bench as Real Madrid beat Deportivo by two goals to one in La Liga.
Deportivo were on the front foot from the start and were buoyed by the fact that Real fielded a weakened team ahead of Tuesday's Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona.
The home side deservedly took the lead in the 35th minute when Riki scored with a fantastic near-post effort from range.
Cristiano Ronaldo was introduced early in the second period in a triple substitution along with Khedira and Ozil. Ronaldo's presence changed the game and the turning point came when Kaka' scored a brilliant effort from distance in the 73rd minute.
Ronaldo then superbly created a chance for Gonzalo Higuain in the 88th minute who was left with a simple tap-in to give Real Madrid victory.
