Israel managed to hold Portugal in their Group F qualifying game today in a 3-3 draw where Cristiano Ronaldo found it hard to shine.
Portugal went ahead early on after Bruno Alves rose to head home a corner for the visitors. Israel then scored two goals before half time to turn the match around.
Cristiano Ronaldo was not playing his usual free-flowing football and Israel gained confidence from Ronaldo's silence.
The Israelis made it 3-1 in the 70th minute in what seemed like a major upset.
Portugal did well to hit back through strikes from Helder Postiga and Fabio Coentrao, who netted in injury time.
